TENNA MONROE
CARPENTER IN CHICAGO, IL
Carpentry has always been in Tenna’s blood. Her father was a union carpenter and her mother did wood work for as long as she can remember, so it’s no surprise that Tenna has been a carpenter for 24 years. “I love doing different, new things all the time. And, I love the physical part of it.” Her advice to young women that want to become a carpenter: “Ignore negativity. Don’t let somebody dictate your future.” Tenna is wearing the Sarah Soft Shell Jacket and the Fran Work Coat on a construction site in her native Hyde Park on Chicago’s South Side
DICTATE YOUR FUTURE.”
MALLORY WINKLER
IRONWORKER IN CHICAGO, IL
From waitress to fence worker to ironworker, that’s Mallory’s story. Having helped her father ‘to work on things’ since she was little she always knew that she wanted to do something with her hands. So, when a union company offered an apprenticeship to become an ironworker she had found her calling. “It’s great to jump from job to job and to see the finished product of my work. And, I love that the job is physically and mentally challenging” Mallory marvels. Her advice for young women: “Do your work. Get good at what you do and the rest will follow.” Mallory is wearing the Charlotte Work Vest and the Diana Bomber Jacket in front of a skyscraper in Chicago’s Loop where she is currently working.
AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW.”
CHERISH DAVIS
LOCAL 1 IRONWORKER IN CHICAGO, IL
“I don’t like the extreme heat or the intense cold but one of things I love about my job is that I’m always outdoors”, Cherish laughs. When she started out as a tradeswoman she was looking for a career that allowed her to be financially independent, have good benefits and not having to pay for school. That’s exactly what she accomplished. After five years of working as a bricklayer she switched gears to become a structural ironworker. “The pay is great, and I love being with the guys, talking smack, the whole camaraderie.” She quickly adds: “But after work I’m a girl.” Her advice for new tradeswomen: “Don’t sit back and let the guys do the work. Take the reins.” Cherish is wearing the Wendy Work Coat sitting on a truck in Northern Indiana.

Workwear for women that fits the female body
There’s nothing worse than wearing ill-fitting clothes and constantly needing to adjust them by rolling up pant legs, tightening belts or trying to add layers. Women whose only option is to dress in men’s workwear for tough jobs may put themselves risk. Excess fabric could get caught in machinery or cause them to trip and fall, resulting in an accident. Feeling uncomfortable can also impact a woman’s confidence and sense of inclusion, causing them to perform at less than their potential.
LIBAERTY women’s workwear is designed specifically for a woman’s body—and with the same features and characteristics as their male coworkers’ apparel. LIBAERTY’s workwear for women and personal protective equipment (PPE) provide the necessary support and benefits for effective job performance:
● Safety: quality workwear for women that protects against hazards to minimize the risk of injury
● Performance: wicking, breathability and temperature-controlling characteristics
● Durability: quality fabric and construction to withstand the elements and tough activities
● Features: for different types of manual work (special pockets, tool holders, etc.) and different body proportions (waist and cuff adjustments)
● Inclusion: proper apparel for the occasion to boost confidence and avoid “standing out”
